late night

I love staying up late. I think better and do more. Too bad the rest of the world isn't set up that way. Right now I am stretching both my feet, I have teeth whitener trays in and i put on fake tanning stuff after my shower. Multitasking at it's best. Anyway, here is a funny story that Rush told the other day. It illustrates a negative to smoking bans in bars and restaurants. there was a guy at a bar that got kicked out of the bar for his horrible flatulence.
the thing is, he had been going to the bar for years and flatulating but no one could smell it because of the smoke.
when the smoking ban was initiated everyone could smell it and started getting sick so they kicked him out!!! Some of us can identify. OK time to tame the whitener trays out.

Yesterday was my birthday!

I am writing today because our internet has been down for two days so I coulds not post on the big day itself. I turned 53! To celebrate, I made bananas foster ala "Harry's" and ate it for lunch and dinner!! I am looking forward to the birthday when i am no longer in competition for all the hot guys! The pressure is terrible! Maybe a t 60 I will be able to relax. Seriously though, my family makes getting older a joy! it is so much fun to see where God takes each one of them . For example , i am posting a picture of Michael as he goes to his senior prom! he went with a group . the next day,when i asked him how it went he said "I enjoyed myself" End of commentary!

Mike left for Mississippi this am and I will go to jacksonville on Sat. for Tim's birthday.

my first posting

I have joined the world of blogging!! I had to have surgery on my foot and have spent lots of downtime so I thought I might as well set up a blog to chronicle my recooperation. I have spent two weeks with no weight bearing using crutches all the time. Now I can do partial weight bearing on that foot but I still use crutches for another week. Also, I have to wear a brace that passively stretches my foot for 6 hours a day (does not have to be consecutive). i don't remember the dr. teling me about this! I have been able to do things but I have been surprized at how much energy it takes. I just had to get out of the house yesterday and I went shopping for about an hour. I hobbled around T.J. Maxx with one crutch and the shopping cart. I was sweating and exhausted in no time!!! Me, a veteran shopper had to give up and go home!! For the most part I have enjoyed the time to do lots of quiet things. I have read two books by Sue Grafton, A is for Alibi and B is for Burgler. I also finished a book about Queen Isabella of England (1300's). She was the one in Braveheart who had the gay husband, Edward II. It was slow reading but interesting.

I picked "Chair of bowlies " for my titile because I have always thought the mary Englebright
saying,"Life is just a chair of bowlies" was funny. Maybe I can find a picture of it later.
